My Return From Hiatus!

hiatus 2

So it has been a while internet friends! I know my hiatus was completely unexpected and I am very sorry I didn’t hop on to tell all of you about what was going on. In short student teaching completely took over my life. I had pretty much no time to myself since I was hard at work trying to help my students best. So I apologize for that, but here I am! A recent college graduate and a blogger ready to get back out there!

I am excited to start adding posts again and getting back in the swing of it all. I know my start is going to be slow, honestly I have about no material ready to add but I am going to be working on it ASAP. So be ready for new content as fast as I can. I really am happy to be back and look forward to chatting with all of you again!

As always,
Nicole

PS: Let me know how you have been! What has the new year brought for you? What are you most excited for? Let me know in the comments 🙂

Beauty on a Budget: Wet n Wild Coverall Line

DSC_0425 (2) copy

Looking for a buildable full coverage foundation? Also low on cash? Well look no further! Today I am going to be giving you the full rundown on the Coverall Line from Wet n Wild.

The Coverall Line from Wet n Wild includes a primer base, liquid foundation, cream stick concealer, and pressed powder. The products I will be reviewing include the primer and foundation, mainly because the concealer and powder would be a skip in my book. To start things off the primer which is the hardest to find will set you back $5. I usually can only find the primer at Walmart and that is if they even have it in stock. The foundation which comes in 7 shades will set you back only $4! The shades that work best for my skin ton are a mix of 815 Fair and 816 Fair/Light. Keep reading for swatches and more!

Get To Know Me Tag

Get To Know Me Tag

IMG_3083

Hello everyone! I thought today would be a perfect day to do one of these tags floating around the beauty blogger world. I just got back from vacation and didn’t prepare enough posts to last this week, so sadly I am behind on content. Don’t worry though! Tomorrow is going to be the day I get everything done. But in the mean time enjoy reading about me and feel free to join in the tag!

1. Is your hair naturally curly or straight?
My hair is sadly naturally straight and is beyond resistant to curls. I also have to battle frizz on a daily and on occasion straighten my hair to make it pin straight. If only it would curl…(says every straight haired woman ever).
2. Do you dye it yourself or go to a salon?
I rock the all natural brown color and have never dyed my hair. If I ever wanted to change it up I would go to a professional because I am prone to mess something up.
3. Do you wear the same style everyday, or do you change it?
I regularly change up my style depending on my mood. If I’m feeling super happy I’ll probably rock a preppy look, or if I’m having a bad day expect a dark look. It really depends on the day!

Late Summer Nail Polish Roundup

polish

Although it is late summer here in the States, we still have a full month left of the real heat! So why not share my top summer nail polishes that are super affordable and available in a variety of drugstore or high-end shades if my picks are no longer available.

The shades:

Egg yolk Orange – This shade flatters all skin tones and really draws attention to your nails. The bright orange is such a summer shade and can be easily pulled off. My polish is by wet n wild in their Wild Shine line in 405. The Wild Shine line ranges from 95c to $1.05 depending on where you buy it and is super rich when applied. No streaks and a one coat needed application. This is also my favorite line of nail polishes since they last a crazy long time on your nails even when working really hard day in and day out.

Any shade of White – Why white you ask? Well because it looks chic and with a variety of variants out there for shades anyone can pull this look off. The polish I have is Rimmel’s 60 Seconds polish in 703 White Hot Love. This particular shade is off white so it flatters my olive skin tone. This line ranges from 98c to $1.20 depending on where you buy. Because white is a tough shade for your nails usually you will need multiple coats. For this brand I find that 3 coats usually does it. The lasting power is also there for such a cheap nail polish.

Brows on a Budget: NYX and E.L.F.

DSC_0430 (3)

For the longest time I was obsessed with others eyebrows and how perfect they could get them looking. After doing some research I found some alternatives to the expensive brow gels and creams (such as the $18 Anastasia Dip Brow) that work almost just as well!

NYX Tinted Brow Mascara: The first product I want to talk about is this brow mascara from NYX. It retails for $7 to $9 depending on where you buy. This mascara has a tiny brush which you just brush your brows into place. I have quite dark hair so my color is in Espresso. The brush is just under the size of a quarter which works well for your brows. When brushing into place you can go over in layers to achieve the correct shape and color. I usually go over twice since I sometimes miss spots. This product dries fairly quickly and will not budge until removed with makeup remover. The best part about this product is that if you make a mistake you have enough time to quickly smudge it away, so you can really get those flawless brows. This is my go to product on a daily basis since it takes two seconds to apply. Keep reading to find out about the eyebrow kit!

For my recently passed birthday I received some MAC products from friends and family, and with that came these two products. I have to be honest, I originally had their newest foundation and a mineral finish powder but both broke out my skin so I swapped a day later for these products. Now that I’ve had these products for a couple weeks now I can really give you guys a full review. So lets get down to business, should you go and splurge on the MAC Matchmaster SPF 15 Foundation and Pro Longwear Powder? Maybe… Read on to find out more!

DSC_0407 (2) we

Is your birthday in August? Are you signed up with ULTA for a rewards card (which is free)? If you said yes to both of these answers then lucky you! For those whose birthdays fell in June, July, or August ULTA will send you a special email with your code for this sample size of Urban Decay’s Perversion Mascara. I received mine a few days after my birthday, which was in July, and have been testing this product ever since.

This sample mascara comes with 0.1 fl oz of product and is in the shade of black. The packaging of this product claims that this mascara will give you bigger, blacker, and badder lashes. This mascara is used for length and volume along with the claim it will nourish your lashes as you wear it.The brush itself is filled with a very thick set of bristles that picks up a large amount of product. In my honest opinion a bit too much product… Continue reading for more + swatches!

Full Review: NYX Soft Matte Lip Cream

DSC_0415 (2) copy

As part of my mini ULTA haul I had purchased one of NYX’s matte lip creams mainly out of curiosity. I knew of the Copenhagen shade that always blows up the internet in the Fall/Winter. So because of this, and the fact it was buy one NYX product get the other 50% off, I just had to try out a new shade. The shade I purchased is in the color San Paulo which is a bright fuchsia color. Without any special deals this product retails for $5.99.
