Inspirations: MAC Burgundy Times Nine Palette

What inspires me as an individual is a brand new makeup palette. Looking at all the shades I can already imagine what I could and would create. As some of you know for my birthday I received a bunch of MAC products from family and friends, and today I want to share with you the amazing MAC Burgundy Times Nine Palette.

This palette comes with 9 shades and costs a grand total of $40 in stores or online. Each color is super pigmented and includes both matte and shimmer shades. What drew me to this product was the fact it could be used in both day and night eye makeup looks. The lighter shades work well for a natural daytime look while the darker shades pump up the volume for a scandalous night out look. As with most high end eye shadows I would without a doubt recommend an eyeshadow primer be applied before applying any of the shades. With no primer at all the lighter colors do not show up much at all, and the entire palette tends to run and smudge quite quickly. So do yourself a favor and use some sort of eyeshadow primer. I use Urban Decay’s Eyeshadow Primer Potion most of the time, but for those on an extreme budget the $1 E.L.F. Eyeshadow Primer would work as well.

Overall I do find that this is a splurge worthy item. The shades are super pigmented and stay on all day if used with a primer. Plus getting 9 MAC eyeshadow shades that come in a small, portable, magnetic package for $40 seems like sort of a steal compared to the single shades to go. If you already own this amazing palette let me know how you use it!

Happy weekend!
